There was a little wait at the Peace Arch, that was to be expected, but what wasn’t was the downpour that I sat in for an hour..the only good thing was that I found out my gear is waterproof!!!…10 minutes after gassing up in Blaine, my bike loses power and dies on the I5 (first breakdown)…..am I going to be stranded in Blaine only 2 hours into my trip???? I rolled to the side of the hwy and sat for a few moments thinking “what the hell happened?”, nothing like this has happened before, full tank of gas…electrical maybe??? I scratched my head for about 5 minutes then gave’r a crank…..boom!!! she started up right away and seemed to run fine…I have no idea what the problem was, but 700km later, she’s still working…….the rest of the miles were pretty uneventful except for my heated grips giving out (loose wire somewhere) and a few nice panoramic shots of the Oregon coastline….I have photos of everything, but the internet connection in this motel sucks and it would take all nite to load them up….Anyhow, I made Lincoln City and plan to sleep in Eureka California tommorrow…time to go strech out my back, it’s a litle sore from the 9hrs in the saddle.
PS. what’s with the canucks???
